Should I tell my medical doctor that I am receiving chiropractic care?
Yes, we encourage our patients to inform their medical care providers they are using our services. We collaborate with contemporary minded, patient-centered medical practitioners to achieve quality results. We will gladly forward a copy of our patient’s initial evaluation report to their primary care physician. We believe the key to comprehensive care is communication to our patients’ providers.
Does my insurance pay for chiropractic treatment?
Yes, many health insurance companies will cover a portion, if not all of chiropractic services. Our staff will call to confirm your benefits and encourage our patients to check their insurance providers as well.
Are chiropractic adjustments safe?
Chiropractic adjustments carry very low risk of complications. Some patients experience only mild soreness following the initial adjustment.
How long does treatment take?
Most initial visit includes a thorough history, orthopedic, and neurological exam and will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Follow-up visits take 15-20 minutes, depending on the severity of the issue.
Do chiropractors crack your back?
Chiropractors refer to this “crack” as an “audible release” and the treatment success does not depend on the sound of the “crack.”
How does the doctor know where to perform a manipulation?
The doctor examines a variety of areas, including regions of local muscle tightness, asymmetry in the contours of the spine, restrictions in overall movement of the spine and abnormal posture.
How much chiropractic care is required?
Many different factors influence recovery, including the patient’s age, treatment goals, general health status, severity of injury, and more. Some patients choose to continue care on a maintenance basis to prevent re-injury and maintain optimal health.
